The under 16 football team played St Malachys College in the NISFA Schools Cup 3rd round on Monday 25th November. The game was played at a high pace with lots of chance created at either end. St Malachy’s scored first. This was then cancelled out by a great goal from Jamal Tavares. Once again St Malachy’s got their noses in front. ERGS answered back with another excellent solo run from Tavares who slotted the ball neatly beyond the goalkeeper. It was heartbreak for ERGS at the death as St Malachy’s scored with 5 minutes remaining. Quillan Irvine almost equalised in injury time but it was not to be. St Malachy’s held on to win 3-2.
