Omagh High School Diamond Jubilee Show Jumping Competition Thursday 13th October – Ecclesville, Fintona

A special event for Omagh High School this year as it was their Diamond Jubilee. A massive achievement for School’s Show Jumping. As a school, we entered the following classes…

    3 (45cm) – Lily Moore & Izzy

4 (Run Ride, fun class)– Emma McCaldin, Lily Moore & Izzy

5 (Diamond Jubilee Stakes – Top Score – Tess Wallace & Elvis

6 (70cm Speed Round)– Tess Wallace & Elvis; Ruby Moore & Pippa

Class 7 ( 75-85cm Novice Teams and Individuals) OliwiaMuras & Fonya; Ruby Moore & Pippa

    Class 8 ( 85-95cm) – Rebecca-Jane Wood & Billy the Kid

    Class 9 (1m) – Rianna Mulligan & Highlandy Rebel

So … a full-on day. As usual in a big event of this nature, timing was a little off. The first class began at 9am with the last class finishing at around 8.30pm!!

Fabulous support was given by our girls for each other as theyall competed in their various classes.

    Results:

Class 3 saw Lily Moore and Izzy having a fab round resulting in a double clear.

Class 4 (Run and Ride) saw Emma McCaldin fly over the jumps as she ran with Lily and Izzy just clipping a pole in the ride aspect. Great fun!

Class 5 was a new class, just introduced for OHS’s Diamond Jubilee. Every fence has points attached. You may only jump a fence twice, but in any direction. You make up your own course which will give you the maximum number of points in 45secs.

Tess and Elvis were first to go and had a great round. They came 6th overall, getting a Rossette and goody bag!!!

In Class 6 Tess and Elvis went close to the start. The pair had a fabulous, fast round (45secs), with just one pole clipped.

Ruby and Pippa went in afterwards. Another fast round and an all clear, securing a 5th place, Rosette and goody bag.

In Class 7 – Well done to Oliwia Muras on the occasion of her first show!! She had a great ride after a little ‘head stagger ‘ from Fonya before the first jump. Look forward to seeing more of her in the future. Also to Ruby and Pippa, who had another great run in this class, with just one pole down.

Rebecca-Jane and Billy had a strong round with just the 4 faults in Class 8 whilst Rianna and Rebel had a double clear, finishing 2nd in this class. More Rosettes and goody bags! Finally, to see out the night, Rianna completed the 1m class with a double clear, securing 4th in this Class 9.

Congratulations to all the riders and ponies for a great day at the Show. Thanks to all parents for providing the transport.
