Congratulations to our four debaters who took a leap into the unknown in Trinity College on Friday where they took part in a series of British Parliamentary style debates for which they had a prep time of 15 minutes without use of the internet. Not for the faint-hearted!
Year 14 pupils Thomas Clarke and Matthew Shaw made it into the Gold Final, ranking an impressive 1st place among 24 teams.
Luchia McCusker (Yr 12) and Caitlin Binu (Yr 13) made it into the Silver Final, ranking a commendable 8th place. The overall winner of the final debate on Irish neutrality was a Dublin school.
All debaters received feedback on their performance, and it was overall a great day of camaraderie and learning for all involved with lots of tips to take back to our Debate Club which runs Tuesdays after school in LS Library.
