Two ERGS teams took part in the BPW Public Speaking Competition for Young People in the regional heat in Dungannon on Monday evening, where Luchia McCusker’s impressive Public Speaking mentoring skills gave rise to very polished performances from both teams. Luchia, Year 13, took on this mentoring role as part of the school’s SistersIN programme.
Team 1 comprised of Year 14 pupils Ethan Graham and Joshua Larner and key speaker Annie Fowler who spoke on the topic of Misogyny and Racism within the Met Police. Team 2, comprised of Year 13 pupils Summer Richie, Alex Crawford and key speaker Lin Ruo Zhang whose chosen topic was on Why the United Nations must be reformed for the 21st Century. Team 2 were the winners of the heat, which means they go forward to the NI Final on Saturday 14th February in Portadown. Well done to all involved.
