The first face-to-face meeting of School Council took place on Tuesday 21st December at 11.15am in the Dining Hall on CC Site.
This was the first time that School Council had come together in a non-virtual forum since December 2019 and the meeting looked very different to this time two years ago as pupils were carefully adhering to Covid mitigations by being socially distanced in Year Group Bubbles and wearing face coverings except while enjoying some festive treats.
Mr Beddard welcomed everyone to the meeting and then Simon Kidney and Dale Clendinning, the Chair and Vice-Chair respectively, took a lead role in conducting a very productive business meeting.
Feedback on the success of the Shoe Box and Food Hamper Appeals was reported on, as was the state of play regarding issues raised by Council members at the November meeting. Mrs Kettyle was invited to update the Council representatives on the progress of the new Preventative Curriculum and on the Period Dignity Scheme that will be rolled out during Term 2. Mr Beddard invited suggestions for Term 2 projects, before drawing the meeting to a close and thanking all for their hard work since we last met.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from ERGS School Council
