After a lull in the Show-jumping scene, ERGS riders were away today to represent their school in the Annual St Patrick’s Day Competition.
This weekend, Rianna Mulligan and Marble entered the 75cm class in addition to the 85cm. After watching her sister Julia literally zoom round the course, Rianna went into the arena and slipped ahead of her by 0.5 of a second thus clinching the win. Congratulations to both girls on a family 1 and 2.
There was no Novice Team competition, so our Riders entered the Individual 85 cm instead. Tiana-Grace went all Clear on her horse Valley Clover Dream (just returning to form after illness). Lucie-Anne, in her first competition on her new horse Bobby, also put in a sterling performance, getting a double clear as well. Riana and Marble went into the arena for the 2nd time today and registered a clear first phase. As she sped round the timed phase, she was unlucky to have one pole down incurring 4 faults. After clocking such an amazing time, this was really unfortunate.
In the Open Individuals, Sophia (also on her new horse, Mongorry Cruise Molly) had a clear first phase but unfortunately knocked one pole down in the 2nd phase after clocking a decent time. Patrick and William were the final pairing of the day. Another double clear was achieved for the ERGS crew with a strong time also.
A very good day for all the rider’s despite in the wind and the rain. Well done everyone and thank-you once again for your time and effort.
Next event – Drumragh Integrated on Monday 23rd March (unless it is cancelled for safety reasons).
