On Thursday 24 January, pupils from Enniskillen Royal Grammar School travelled to Necarne Castle to participate in the E District Cross Country Championships. Although many of the Yr 9 pupils were away on the school’s annual Ski Trip, teams were entered in the Mini, Minor and Junior sections for boys and girls. Whilst all the pupils battled bravely in wet and windy conditions, there were two standout athletes from ERGS. Annabelle Morrison finished strongly to take the bronze medal in the Mini Girls race, while Sophia Williams left the field in her wake to win the Junior Girls race. Both girls also qualified to race at the Ulster Cross Country Championships at Mallusk Playing Fields on Wednesday 13 February. Well done to all competitors and congratulations to Annabelle and Sophia.
