The Swim Ulster Schools Cup & Championships 2025 took place on Friday 7th February at Aurora Aquatic & Leisure Complex Bangor. Over 1000 swimmers from more than 130 schools across the province of Ulster took part in the one day event. Seven Fermanagh schools were part of the action with 10 Enniskillen Royal GS swimmers taking part.Charles Armstrong (12) swam well in both the 100m Breaststroke and Butterfly races, maintaining his entry times.
Holly Barkley (13) secured a 2 second PB in the 200m Individual Medley and maintained her entry time in the 100m Breaststroke.
Ellie Dunlop (16) hit the wall as the second fastest 16 year old in the 100m Freestyle race. She secured a 4th place finish in the 100m Breaststroke in a tight heat, maintaining her entry time.
James McSorley (12) shaved a whopping 11 seconds off his entry time in the 100m Breaststroke to hit the wall in the top ten ranking. He went on to maintain his entry time in the 100m Freestyle race.
Russell Mikievicz Lumayad (15) maintained his seed place in the 100m Breaststroke. He then had a great swim in the 100m Freestyle event with 11 seconds off his entry time.
James Mongan (18) hit the wall the second fastest among the 18 year olds in the 100m Backstroke race, collecting a new PB. He secured another top 10 ranking in his age group in the 100m Breaststroke along with another new PB.
Younger brother Ryan Mongan (15) finished with a new PB in the 100m Breaststroke and followed up with another strong swim in the 100m Freestyle, taking 6 seconds off his PB.
Maeve Rolston McAuliffe (14) had strong swims in the 100m Backstroke and 100m Freestyle, where she placed third in her heat, dropping 1.25 seconds to secure a new PB.
Erin Salcedo (14) competed in two events. She maintained her 200m Individual Medley time and achieved a new PB in 100m Freestyle with a great time of 1:09.96.
Younger sister Keira Salcedo (12) had a great time. She was delighted to maintain her times in 100m Breaststroke of 1:42.13 and 200m Individual Medley with a time of 3:21.87.
Harals Uzulins (14) secured fantastic PBs in both 100m Backstroke and Breaststroke.
Finley Walker Leonard (14) collected two new PBs in the 100m Freestyle and 200m Individual Medley.
Holly Barkley, Maeve Rolston McAuliffe, Erin Salcedo and Keira Salcedo also represented ERGS in the Medley Relay and Freestyle Relay races. The girls secured 11th place in the Freestyle competition in a competitive pool of 22 teams.
Russell Mikievicz Lumayad, Finley Walker Leonard, Haralds Uzulins and Ryan Mongan formed a boys’ relay team for ERGS, claiming 4th place in a speedy 200m Medley race, followed by 5th place in the Freestyle event.
