We are very proud to share that one of our Year 14 students, Tamzin Hall, has been selected to represent the United Kingdom at the UK–Germany Youth Summit in Berlin this March.
Tamzin secured one of just 35 UK places at this fully funded international summit, having been chosen from more than 1,300 applicants nationwide – an outstanding achievement.
The summit, titled “Resilient Democracies – Youth Shaping the Future”, will take place from 19–22 March 2026 and will bring together young people aged 18–25 from across the United Kingdom and Germany. Participants will explore how young people can actively strengthen democracy and contribute to building more inclusive and resilient societies.
Throughout the programme, delegates will engage in creative workshops, peer discussions and intercultural exchanges, focusing on themes such as civic engagement, diversity and tackling disinformation. The experience will further develop critical thinking, leadership and resilience skills – qualities that Tamzin demonstrates within our school community.
Tamzin previously participated in the Fermanagh Young Leaders Programme delivered by Fermanagh Trust, where she developed her negotiation, presentation and decision-making skills. Reflecting on her selection, Tamzin said:
“I am really looking forward to taking part in the summit in Berlin, especially exploring the theme of democracy and how young people can help shape the future. Being part of the Fermanagh Young Leaders Programme really helped to build my confidence and my connections. I was able to draw on my negotiation, presentation and decision-making skills when completing my application. Building those skills has helped me and opened doors to opportunities like this Berlin Summit.”
This is a fantastic accomplishment and a wonderful example of the opportunities available to young people who step forward with confidence, curiosity and commitment.
We wish Tamzin every success as she represents Enniskillen Royal Grammar School, Fermanagh Northern Ireland on an international stage.
