Both teams braved the horrible conditions caused by storm Debi on Monday morning. Fivemiletown started the brighter of the two teams, but after about 5 minutes ERGS started to settle.
A great drive from down the left hand side resulted in a goal, but unfortunately the ball had clipped a foot on the way in and so the score remained 0-0. Fivemiletown continued to dominate the midfield and in their first drive into the circle they won a corner. Three touches and the ball hit the back of the net in what was a very well taken corner for U14 level.
The second half finally saw ERGS gain parity in the possession stats, using the ball wider and using the natural speed of the wings. A great drive into the circle from Alice Edwards saw the ball hit the back of the net and bring the score level. ERGS continued to push for a winner with serves chances just missing in the last 5 minutes.
However the score stayed 1-1 and was a fair reflection of the match from both teams. Well done to everyone who battled the miserable conditions with a lot of fight!
