On Wednesday 29th January 2025, some of our Year 11 and 12 pupils took part in the UKMT IntermediateMathematical Challenge. This challenge encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems.
The following pupils took part in the Challenge: Aiden Chen, Clare Zhang, Joshua Ihnat, Harley Sheppard, Chloe Simmons and Lin Ruo Zhang.
Aiden, Joshua and Lin achieved Gold certificates, Chloe a Silver certificate, Clare a Bronze certificate and Harley a certificate of participation.
All credit to them as this is an extremely difficult challenge, so well done for taking part and for the fantastic results.
Joshua was the best in his year, with Aiden achieving best in the school which is fantastic. Both boys now progress to the follow-on round which is the Pink Kangaroo round on Thursday 20th March. We wish them all the best for this.
