On Wednesday 28th January, some Year 11 and 12 students took part in the UKMT Intermediate Mathematical Challenge. This challenge encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems.
Aiden Chen, Edward Dawa, Kristan Fee and Harvey Simmons all received a gold certificate which was fantastic. Aiden was best in Year 12 and was best in the school. Harvey was best in Year 11. Aidan and Edward been invited to take part in the Pink Kangaroo follow on round on March 19th. An excellent achievement for them both and we wish them good luck for this.
Lauren Gavin received a silver certificate which was brilliant.
The following students received a bronze certificate which was also great. They were Egle Cepaite, Eimear Hutchinson and Clare Zhang.
The following achieved Certificates of Participation. They were Erin Salcedo, Hannah Kirkpatrick and Uma De Naipir. Well done to all the pupils who took part. This is an extremely difficult Mathematics Challenge and credit to everyone for attempting it.
Some pupils were camera shy and did not wish to be included in the photos, but all got their certificates.
