On Thursday 25th April 2024, some of our Year 8 and 9 pupils took part in the UKMT Junior Mathematical Challenge. This challenge encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems.
The following pupils achieved Gold certificates, which was fantastic:
Cathair McCusker and Harvey Simmons (who was also best in school). Also, well done to Harvey who has progress on to the Junior Kangaroo 2024 follow on round on 11th June.
The following pupils achieved Silver certificates, which was brilliant:
Matthew Brownlee, Charlie Gregg and Hollie Sharpe.
The following pupils achieved Bronze certificates, which was also great:
Catalina Starrett, Leila Laporionok, Tommy Chen, Samuel Krawczyk, Holly Barkley, Henry Gregg, Jack McAleer, Eimear Hutchinson, Egle Cepaite, Erin Salcedo, Advika Rao and Indiana Nixon.
Amelia-Rose Blair, Nathan Thompson, Wilson Grey, Ava-Grace Charles, Yasmina Labib, Rokas Ravinas, Abby Elkin, Ashvik Rao and Hannah Keaney all achieved certificates of participation.
Well done to all pupils who took part, as this consisted of incredibly challenging questions. They should all be very proud.
