On Thursday 1st May 2025, some of our Year 8 and 9 pupils took part in the UKMT Junior Mathematical Challenge. This challenge encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. We had some great wins amongst those who entered.
Matthew Brownlee achieved a Gold Certificate which was fantastic. He was also best in the school. A further well done to Matthew who has progressed on to the Junior Kangaroo 2025 follow on round on 10th June.
The following pupils achieved Silver certificates, which was brilliant:
Jensen Browne, Jayden Naidoo, Ciara McCusker, Jori Medani, Zinnia Beeson, Ava-Grace Charles, Cathair McCusker and Tommy Chen.
The following pupils achieved Bronze certificates, which was also great:
David Ferreira, Noah Guildea, Joey Preshaw, Aoife Masson, Sam Curran and Holly Barkley.
Alfie Miller, Klavs Paurnietis, Harvey Graydon, Zoey Wallington-Forde, Matthew McAlister and Jack Thornton all achieved certificates of participation.
Well done to all pupils who took part, as this consisted of incredibly challenging questions. They should all be very proud as this is a brilliant achievement and credit to them all for taking part.
