On Tuesday 1st October 2024, some of our Year 13 and 14 pupils took part in the UKMT Senior Mathematical Challenge. This challenge encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems.
The following pupils achieved Gold certificates which was excellent:
Ronan Houston (also Best in Year 14 and in School) and Mark Wallace. With such great results, they have earned themselves a place on the Andrew JobbingsSenior Kangaroo 2024 follow-on round on 20thNovember.
The following pupils achieved Silver certificates, which was fantastic:
Barry Hutchinson (also Best in Year 13), Iona McPhillips (from Erne Integrated), Eoghan Campbell, Erica Tripa, Freddy Parkinson and Kyle Cadden.
The following pupils achieved Bronze certificates, which was also great:
Mei Se, Erin Trimble, Eloise McDonagh, Jessy Irwin, Natalia Dowa, Andy Huang, Lennon Matthew, Paul Hawthorne, Heather McCaffrey and Ashling Man.
Ethan Downey, Theo Wei, Daniel Rowsome, Amelie Martin, Louis Schwartz, Kaelem McGovern, Matthew Kerr and Molly Frost all achieved certificates of participation.
Well done to all pupils who took part, as this consisted of incredibly challenging questions. They should all be very proud.
