Event Details: Electronical Engineering Space Themed Workshop, Ulster University, Belfast Campus
Event type: In the UK, only 16% of Engineers are female, Engineering is rewarding, well-paid career that shapes the world around us. The WE-Bridge Program at Ulster University aims to help close the gender gap in the field of Electronical Engineering by running a number of interactive workshops designed to empower female students to pursue a career in Engineering.
This Space Themed workshop is primarily aimed females to help demystify the common misconceptions about females in STEM and Engineering. The pupils will take part in an interactive ‘Space Themed Workshop’ using BBC Micro:Bits to code and launch a balloon and they will also attend a talk by an astronaut. On the day they will have an opportunity to speak to the Associate Head of School of Engineering and lectures who are championing gender equality in Engineering.

Location: Ulster University Belfast Campus – Conor Lecture theatre (BA Building BA-01-009)
Capacity: 50 – Booking essential, first come first served.
Target Audience: Females (To help promote Electronical Engineering as a career for females).
Preferred year group: years 12 & 13 but places will be given to years 8 and 11.
