Update to PHA self-isolation Guidance and impact on pupils who are currently self-isolating.
On Friday evening we received confirmation from the Department of Education that, in line with the recently issued advice of the four UK Chief Medical Officers, the self-isolation period following notification of a positive COVID 19 test result or contact with a positive COVID 19 case will reduce from 14 days to 10 days. This is effective from Monday 14 December 2020 .
This means that for those pupils currently in self-isolation, from Monday 14th, the period now ends at day 10.
Any pupils who are currently self-isolating beyond day 10 must continue to self-isolate until Mondayeven if they have passed day 10.
This is the case with the Year 14 pupils who were due to finish their self-isolation period on 14th or 15th December. They may now return to school on Monday 14th December but should continue to self-isolate over this weekend.
For those Year 13 pupils who were due to finish their period of self-isolation on 22nd or 23rdDecember this period now ends on Friday 18th or Saturday 19th December respectively.
