World Book Day is a great opportunity to shine a light on our book clubs which are a very sociable way of enhancing readers’ understanding and appreciation of books. With exams looming, both book clubs are reading novels from Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series which are fun and entertaining while also packed with literary devices. Year 11 Book Club pupils are reading Night Watch which combines satirical humour with social commentary in a very character-driven narrative. Year 12/14 Book Club pupils are reading Wyrd Sisters, a parody, satire and social commentary. Happy reading!
