As part of their preparation for Unit 3 of the GCSE Geography course, Year 11 pupils participated in a field trip focused on data collection and fieldwork skills. The excursion offered students the opportunity to engage with their subject beyond the classroom, applying theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting.
Blessed with excellent weather conditions, students diligently recorded various environmental data—despite encountering a rather full river, which resulted in some thoroughly soaked wellington boots! Nonetheless, pupils remained in high spirits, demonstrating good behaviour and a strong work ethic throughout the day.
A highlight of the trip was a well-earned refreshment stop in Derrygonnelly, where students (and teachers) were able to enjoy an ice cream in the sunshine—a fitting end to a productive and enjoyable outing.
We extend our sincere thanks to Mr Mason and Miss Maguire for their organisation which ensured the success of the fieldwork and provided our students with an enriching and memorable experience.
