As a school we marked Anti-Bullying Week from 15th-19th November with a series of activities delivered in Year Group Assemblies, Tutor Times and in Personal Development lessons as well as events for the whole school community to get involved in such as the Odd Socks Day.
Mr McDevitt, Head of Year 8, set his pupils the ‘Stand Up To Bullying Challenge’ where each pupil in Year 8 decorated a paper hand which depicted an anti-bullying message. The creativity and thought-provoking message on each hand was truly outstanding, which created a dilemma for Mr McDevitt and Mrs Kettyle who had to select two winners! The standard was so good that, in the end, they awarded four ‘One4all’ gift cards to Clare Zhang (8A), Katie Hull (8B), Lauren Gavin (8D) and Aimee Turner (8E) – a huge congratulations to these four pupils and indeed to everyone who submitted an entry as a lovely display with all of the hands was put up near the entrance on Cooper Crescent site.
A group of Year 8 pupils shared a short anti-bullying message in their Year Group Assembly on the Friday of Anti-Bullying Week, and they then created a short video of their messages to share on the App – sit back, relax and enjoy the video clip!
