Year 8 have made a promising start to their Netball at ERGS.
Year 8 Fermanagh Netball Blitz – Round 12 pupils travelled to St Fanchea’s last week to play in the first round of the Fermanagh Blitz. The team played very well winning 5 out of their 6 matches to secure 2nd place behind Mount Lourdes. These two teams will now progress to the Fermanagh/Tyrone Cup Blitz next week.
A strong day out for the young ERGS Netball Squad. This was a whole squad performance, with all 12 players contributing at various times and many players playing in multiple positions.
Year 8 Netball B vs St Fanchea’s Netball B
11 girls from Year 8 travelled the short distance to one of our neighbouring schools, St Fanchea’s college this morning. Here we played a friendly match to give the girls the opportunity to play an Interschools game.
All of the girls were on top form, giving it their all in their respective positions. We played the match in 4 quarters of 8 minutes allowing for everyone to get good playing time.
The first quarter saw an early lead of 6-3. This was stretched in the 2nd quarter to 16-5. In the 3rd quarter the score was 24-9. So in the 4th quarter, we had a re-shuffle of shooters. The final score was 28-13 to the ERGS girls.
A very well played game with lots of excellent play and superb shooting.
Congratulations girls
