The second match of the season resulted in a unfortunate 2-0 loss to the home team. In the first half, Enniskillen played really well and had a couple of good runs from V. Benson, A.McMullan and A.McIntosh. Enniskillen got plenty of breakthroughs but Raphoes defence and goalkeeper continued to keep the ball away from their danger zone. However, E.Fallis and S.Williams continued to sweep up the right sideline passing through to the other side met flawlessly by R.Mullan and E.Moutry. Raphoe were determined to get a goal and a ball hit from their defence managed to make its way to their forwards. This ball was then met by the defence of E.Morton, A.Brock, K.Noble and K.Harron, although a shot was sent in on target which went straight in to the left hand side of the goal which left us 1-0 down at half time.
Entering into the 2nd half, Enniskillen were determined to come out with a draw or even a win and weren’t willing to let Raphoe keep their lead. However, Raphoe came back fighting even harder, but our home defence kept fighting back and managed to keep the ball away from our goal. Raphoe had a very strong attacking side and managed to win a few short corners which Enniskillen managed to clear by the goalie CG except for one which swept past the Enniskillen defence and ended in the right hand side of the net. The last play of the game came from V.Benson who managed to win a short corner for the home side. This was taken by V.Benson who passed to A.McMullan, met by R.Mullan then took the shot from the left hand side of the circle, narrowly missing the left post as the final whistle blew. The girls would like to say a big thanks to Raphoe for coming down, D.Colville and the supporters who came out to see the match.
