87 rowers and some parents from ERBC took on a new challenge last weekend, to row continuously on ergs for 24 hours in one hour time slots. They started the Challenge on Friday evening at 19.00 and finished 782,907 metres later on Saturday evening. Some of the rowers got very competitive indeed and it was great to see their enthusiasm. All age groups took part in the challenge including some of the rowers who have just been with us for a couple of weeks.
Many thanks to everyone who took part in the Rowathon, to our Captains, Laura Turner and Tom Blake who rallied the rowers and to Laura’s Mum and Dad, Marty and Karen who came up with the fundraising idea. Many thanks to all the coaching staff and parents who supervised the rowers throughout the 24 hours and to everyone who has supported the event.
