On Sunday 15th April, the Senior Choral Group sang along their peers from Clongowes Wood, at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life and Work of the Blessed John Sullivan SJ held in St Macartin’s Cathedral.
John Sullivan (1862 -1933) was a pupil of Portora and went on to teach at Clongowes Wood; it was lovely to welcome their choir to perform alongside the ERGS Senior Choral Group in what was a very special service.
Enniskillen Royal Grammar School is a new academically selective voluntary grammar school that opened on 1 September 2016.

Huge Congratulations to Our Talented Pupils Representing Fermanagh! ⚽
We are delighted to celebrate the achievement of a number of our pupils who have been selected to represent Fermanagh at this year’s prestigious SuperCup NI.
Selected for the Junior Squad are Olly McLaren (Year 9), Henry McNiece (Year 9) and Noah Welsh (Year 10), while Ethan Boylan-Clarke (Year 11) and Ben Cathcart (Year 12) have been selected for the Premier Squad.
Selection for the Premier and Junior squads is a tremendous achievement and reflects the hard work, dedication and commitment these young footballers have shown throughout the season. They will have the opportunity to compete against some of the best youth teams from across the UK, Ireland and beyond in one of the most respected youth football tournaments in the world.
The SuperCup NI gets underway next month, running from Sunday 26 July to Friday 31 July, with Fermanagh’s Premier and Junior teams facing a series of challenging fixtures throughout the tournament. Matches will take place across a number of venues in the North West, providing players with a fantastic opportunity to showcase their talents on a major stage while representing their county with pride.
We wish all of our pupils involved the very best of luck and encourage members of our school community to come along, support the teams and enjoy what promises to be an exciting week of football.

🎾 Junior Girls’ Cup Semi-Final
ERGS defeated Strathearn B 6–0 to secure their place in next week’s final. A fantastic performance from the girls and a well-deserved place in the decider.
🎾 Minor Boys’ Plate Semi-Final
The Minor Boys were defeated 5–1 by RBAI in their plate semi-final. Despite the result, the team can be proud of their efforts throughout the competition.

Congratulations to Robin Boyd (Year 10), who is representing Fermanagh this weekend at the John West Féile na nGael 2026 in Carlow.
Robin travels with Ederney St Joseph’s GAC hurling team, who qualified as Fermanagh Champions, to compete against teams from across Ireland at one of the country’s premier underage Gaelic Games events.
This is a tremendous achievement for Robin and his teammates, and a reward for all their hard work and dedication throughout the season.
We wish Robin, his teammates, coaches and supporters every success this weekend.
