10 crews from the Boat Club headed off to Eton Dorney Lake last weekend to compete in National Schools Regatta. They competed against the top rowing schools in UK and after a fantastic weekend of racing they came home with the Headington Cup and 3 sets of silver medals. There were 3 crews in action on Friday with all 3 Crews making it through to the A Finals but were just outside the medal positions

Saturday saw the first of the Club’s medals with the J16G 4+ for Zoe McCutcheon, Abby Corry Victoria Wilson, Maeve Donnelly and cox Georgia Maxwell who finished in a fantastic 2nd place in the final of the Anna Fangen Cup in a time of 8.22.68. The race was won by Kingston

Next up was the Sch G4+ crew of Caoimhe Leonard, Trudie McComb, Jenny Little and Kayleigh Bradley West with cox Nikki Kernaghan who came 4th in the C Final

The boys NonCh 8+ Nathan Timoney, Jack Kennedy, Jack McDade, Odhran Donaghy, Matthew McBrien, Peter Murphy Robbie Mills, Sam Balcombe, cox Rory Farragher had a fantastic race in their final which had a mixture of Championship and Non Chanpionship crews to finish in a time of 6.32 and picked up the 2nd set of silver medals for the Club.

Day 3 saw Zoe McCutcheon and Maeve Donnelly J16 2- lift the Headington Cup in a very exciting Final in a great time of 8.08.80 seeing off competition from 2 crews from Kingston.

The Ch2- of Nathan Timoney and Odhran Donaghy came 2nd to Aberdeen School in their final of the Nick Bevan Cup in a time of 7.22.22.
