Friday 2nd November – a wet, cold and dreary day for this years Omagh High School Show.
Our entries this year composed Tiana-Grace Abbott entering as an Individual on 2 separate horses. Clover Valley Dream and Bracken Dancer.
Unfortunately for one Primary school, only one rider turned up, so..in the true spirit of sportsmanship, 3 other Individual Riders agreed to join together to form a team called Edwards Primary. Tiana Grace from Enniskillen Royal was one of these individuals jumping on Clover Valley Dream, Lucie-Ann Abbott on Louie from the Integrated Primary, Emily Marshall on Ballynagilly Popular from Mount Lourdes and Emma Barton on Cooper from Edwards Primary.Together they came 4th and won the Primary schools cup.
In addition to this, Tiana-Grace came 6th fastest in the Individual on Bracken Dancer. A great start to the day!
Next up was the Open Team. The course was very tight and a number of schools had faults or refusals. However, After a long, but very worthwhile wait, the team were announced as being 3rd overall. Sophia Williams on Clonlee Red River got the only double clear for ERGS, Patrick Williams on CoillDearmad William, Mairead Gartland on Cruise on Sahara and Natalie Somerville on Beauty all rode well, gathering a few faults between them.
The final icing on the cake was hearing that Sophia Williams was 6th fastest individual as well!
A super day with plenty of Rosettes and even the odd trophy!!!
Thanks to all the riders, horses and parents for giving up a day of their half term.
