HM Prison at Magilligan are offering TWO work experience placement programmes, each for  YEAR 13 students for 3 DAYS during summer 2020:-

Group 1

Monday 22^nd, Tuesday 23^rd, Wednesday 24^th June

Group 2

Monday 24^th, Tuesday 25^th, Wednesday 26^th August

The Programme is likely to include sessions in

• Psychology
• Labour Allocation
• Healthcare
• Public Protection &
• Offending Behaviour

This programme may appeal to students interested in:

• Law
• Policing
• Criminal Justice System – any role
• Social Work
• Health and Social Care
• Drug and Alcohol counselling
• Psychology
• Psychiatry
• Criminology
• Probation Officer
• Promoting change
• Motivational programme delivery
• Working with offenders and their families

This will be an excellent opportunity for pupils to gain an insight into the work of the prison service. It will be an opportunity to explore a possible career paths and engage directly with key staff.

Students should be able to attend either date and there are only 2 places per school due to the popularity of the opportunity.
