The English department invited KS3 students to create their own poems as part of celebrating National Poetry Day last month. Year 8 students Bella Shaw, Cerys Robinson and Grace Savage (pictured left to right) entered their original poems entitled “I am Beautiful”, “The Grand Looking Oak” and “My Hero” in the Young Writers Poetry Competition and received news that their pieces were selected for publication in a Young Writers Anthology entitled ‘Empowered – words unleashed.’ A warm congratulations to Bella, Cerys and Grace on this wonderful achievement!
