A great day out for our Yr11 Geographers as they took to the river to complete the fieldwork element of their GCSE coursework. The trip saw them take in the breath-taking scenery of Lough Navar forest park as they looked at the changing downstream characteristics of the Sillees river from its source at Lough Achorck through Derrygonnelly before finally heading out into Lough Erne. A great day with all 50 pupils fully engaged and committed despite the odd shower and an unpleasant midgy attack after lunch. We even found time to catch ourselves a new department mascot quickly named ‘Victor the crayfish’ 🦞
