This week A Level Art pupils visited Hambly Hambly gallery to meet the artist Laurence O’Toole, one of Ireland’s most important and influential contemporary painters and view his current work. The exhibition entitled’Escapism and other desires’ featured a collection of still life’s and Fermanagh inspired landscapes. Laurence gave an inspirational talk about his life and work, pupils viewed the work and asked Laurence a number of investigative questions. Pupils engaged fully and everyone had a most enjoyable, thought provoking afternoon out of the classroom.
