Six of our pupils were delighted to receive invitations to a prestigious International Women’s Day Celebration in the Waterways Ireland Headquarters today. A panel of five inspirational women from the disciplines of Engineering, Accountancy, Environmental Science, Management and Journalism, each shared the story of their educational journey and pathway into top positions with Waterways Ireland. Lynda Bryans, former television presenter and journalist, led the event and also joined us on a boat trip on Lough Erne.
International Women’s Day is observed annually all around the world on 8th March. It is a day to reflect on and celebrate the social, political, economic and cultural accomplishments of women. One of the main purposes of this day is to bring awareness to the fight for gender equality.
Thank you to all at Waterways Ireland HQ for making this a special and memorable International Women’s Day for our girls.
