    Athlone Regatta

    72 crews from ERBC travelled to compete at Athlone Regatta and they won 19 of their races with 18 second place finishes and 8 third place finishes.
    Brooke Ewing, Eva Fowler, Flavia Remedios, Penny Huddlestone, and cox Oliver McNeary Won their J13 4X+ race over the crews from Shannon BC and Colaiste Iognaid. The J14 quad of Abbey Johnston, Ciara Sreenivasan, Aoibhin Campbell, Amy Williamson and Cox Luke Bailey won their J14 4X+ final over the girls from Newry RC and Athlone BC. Isabella Wright and Emily Black won both the J14 and J16 doubles.
    J14 octo of Oliver McNeary, Shane O’Donnell, Cameron Bell, Joel Crean, Ollie Powell, Jacob Woods, Joshua Inhat, Cillian Donaghy, and cox Abbey Wilson had a great win over Shannon BCand St Joseph’s. Ollie Powell, Jacob Woods, Joshua Inhat, Cillian Donaghy and with Cox Oliver McNeary won the 4X+.
    Isabella Wright, Emily Black, Grace Collins and Abbey Magwood with Harry Coalter won the J14 quad.
    The J16 eight Daniel Montgomery, Lorcan Screenivasan, Eoghan Campbell, Ethan Downey, Owen Kelly, Hugo McChesney, Justin Smith, Joe Murphy, and cox Abbey Wilson won over Methodist College and Neptune.
    Errie Powell, Sienna Howe, Erin Trimble, Zara Welsh and Cox Luke Bailey took the win in the J15 4X+ completed a win in a tight finish with Athlone and St Michaels. Harry Coalter, Jake Sembhi, Lorcan Screenivasan, Ryan Topping and cox Grace Collins took the MJ15 4X+ win.
    The girls J14 octo of Amy Williamson, Aoibhin Campbell, Emily Black, Caithlin Kelly, Abbie Magwood, Abbey Johnston, Grace Collins, Isabella Wright and cox Abbey Wilson won through over Shannon, Athlone and Colaiste Iognaid.
    Amy Lipscomb and Sienna Howe won their WJ15 2X as did Erin Trimble and Hannah Armstrong. Zara Welsh had a great win the in the J15 single scull event. Harley Shepherd and Eoghan Campbell both had good wins in their J15 single sculls.
    The last win of the day before a storm cancelled the rest of the races came from the boys J15 octo had a good win over St Michael’s and Colaiste Iognaid crewed by Jake Sembhi, Lorcan Screenivasan, Harry Coalter, Ryan Topping, Charlie Lynn, Luke Bailey, Austin Cassidy, Evan Donaghy with cox Abbey Wilson.
    This weekend some of the senior rowers will travel to Cork Regatta to trial for Home Internationals Regatta and then it is time for the juniors to compete at the 1K Classic on July 1st at the National Rowing Centre in Cork and then all eyes will be on the Irish Championships from 14th – 16th July.
