This year, to raise money for NSPCC and to promote numeracy, The Maths Department are hosting a Year 8 numeracy afternoon on Wednesday 7th February, periods 7 – 9 in the Assembly Hall. We are asking for a 50p donation to raise money for a fantastic charity, NSPCC.
Alongside that, they will be holding a a number of House competitions across the year groups, to promote some healthy competition whilst also promoting numeracy across the school. Pupils will be informed of these. Other subjects will join in too where possible to show that numeracy is not only linked to Mathematics.
We will also have a ‘Guess the number of sweets‘ competition on both sites going, 50p a guess, so please give generously, as the closest guess on each site, will win the tub of sweets. This will run from Monday 5th – Wed 7th February at breaktime on both sites. At the whiteboard on CC site and in the Dining Hall on LS site.
