Six local Netball teams participated in the Year 10 Netball Blitz at the Lakeland Forum on Thursday 18th April 2024.
The teams came from Erne Integrated, Fivemiletown College, St.Aidan’s, St.Fanchea’s, St.Kevin’s and Enniskillen Royal Grammar School.
Each team competed against each other in 10-minute matches to see who would be victorious overall.
As all sides warmed up and settled their nerves, players started to demonstrate great teamwork, skill and determination as the competition grew. It was great to hear our players mentioned in conversation for showcasing their talent and skill.
Out of five matches our Year 10 Netball squad won four matches – 5:2 against St.Aidan’s (3 goals by Georgia Wilson and 2 goals by Faith Nelson), 7:2 against FivemiletownCollege (5 goals by Faith Nelson and 2 goals by Georgia Wilson), 10:0 against Erne Integrated (6 goals by Faith Nelson and 4 goals by Georgia Wilson) and 6:2 against St.Kevin’s (5 goals by Faith Nelson and 1 goals by Bella Shaw). The most challenging match was against St. Fanchea’s which unfortunately we lost 6-2 (1 goal by Faith Nelson and 1 goal by Bella Shaw).
The overall result – St. Fanchea’s came first winning all five of their matches, Enniskillen Royal Grammar School came second winning four out of our five matches, and Fivemiletown College came third winning three out of their five matches.
