We have just received communication from Richard Pengelly the Chief Executive of the Education Authority requiring all schools located in the areas affected by the amber warning
in Northern Ireland to close at 12 noon today, Friday, 3 October 2025, due to severe weather conditions.
The alert covers the western half of Northern Ireland – counties Antrim, Londonderry, Tyrone and Fermanagh.
We have been informed by the Education Authority Transport department that the yellow buses will run their normal service at 12 noon, departing from their normal points.
Translink have just advised that they will also collect pupils with valid Translink passes from school and transport them to the depot where they will be dispersed home.
If your child(ren) do not travel by bus you should now make arrangements for transport home as soon as possible after 12 noon.
We appreciate this is very short notice but we were only informed of the school closures this morning and bus transport arrangements were being updated throughout the course of the morning.
