The day got off to a fantastic start as our Senior Girls produced a superb performance to win the Danske Bank Ulster Girls’ Schools’ Cup Final at the Affidea Stadium in Belfast. Facing a strong Down High School side, the ERGS team showed great determination, skill and composure to secure a 22–12 victory and retain the trophy. This remarkable achievement means the girls have now won the title for the fourth year in a row. This is a truly outstanding accomplishment and a testament to the dedication and talent within the squad.
Unfortunately, it was not to be for our 1st XV boys later in the afternoon in the Danske Bank Schools’ Bowl Final. It was a determined and hard-fought performance from the ERGS boys, but Bangor Grammar School proved the stronger side on the day.
A huge thank you to our dedicated coaches, supportive parents and both teams, whose commitment and hard work have helped make this such a proud day for ERGS rugby.
