Enniskillen Royal Grammar started this return fixture against Foyle brightly and early pressure led to prop Josiah Johnston scoring near the posts after damage had been done by fellow prop Aaron Crawford. George Foster added the conversion and ERGS continued to dominate play for most of the first half with Albert Gauley making several strong runs, two of which ended in tries. On other occasions, some attacks failed to make use of available support players and eventually broke down; greater readiness to offload will be called for in future matches. Towards the end of the half, Foyle began to threaten more with better ball retention bringing play close to the ERGS try line. Lack of concentration after a Foyle penalty was awarded left ERGS players further penalised for not retreating and Foyle pressed home their momentum with a converted try. With scores, however, from second row Neil Rutledge and flanker Michael Rooney, the teams went into the break with the score at 27-7.
Soon after the start of the second half, hooker Kyle Davis, who had made some important tackles and ball carries, sustained a serious injury requiring hospital treatment. An abridged second half resumed with ERGS working the ball well to the wing in several attacks and two further tries brought the final score to 39-7.
Speed of getting to the breakdown and decision-making with offloads remain areas to work on, but a number of good performances across the team can be built on looking to next opponents Wallace.ERGS

Gold Duke of Edinburgh Expedition Success
Congratulations to this year's Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award participants, who successfully completed their Gold Qualifying Expedition last week.
Over four days, the groups trekked approximately 80 km through the stunning but demanding Mourne Mountains. Throughout both their training and qualifying expeditions, they demonstrated exceptional determination, resilience and commitment, overcoming every challenge they encountered with positivity and perseverance.
The teams went from strength to strength as the expedition progressed, showing outstanding character, teamwork and attitude no matter what they faced. Their ability to support one another and work together impressed both the expedition leaders and assessor, who praised the high standard they maintained throughout.
It would not have been possible without the support, guidance and encouragement of all the leaders involved, and we would like to thank them sincerely for helping to make this achievement possible.
It has been an absolute pleasure to work with this fantastic group of young people over the past 12 months. They have been outstanding ambassadors for the Enniskillen Royal Grammar School Duke of Edinburgh Award and should be incredibly proud of everything they have achieved.

Congratulations to Ellie Dunlop who qualified in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke as well as the individaul medley in the Irish Summer National Youth and Senior Championships in Dublin. Ellie reached the A finals in both the 50 m and 100m breaststroke and added a place in the B final of 200m breaststroke. Her standout result came in the 50 m breaststroke where she finished 5th in Ireland. Congratulations, Ellie.👏
