The 2017 Swim Ireland Irish Minor Schools competition took place over the weekend at the headquarters of Irish Swimming – The National Aquatic Centre. Two swimmers represented the Enniskillen Royal Grammar Schools; Ellie McCartney and Matthew Dolan were competing against some of the best competitors for their age in the whole Ireland.
Year eight, Ellie McCartney, was competing for the third time in three years – each time coming away as Irish Champion in her age group at 50m Breaststroke. Ellie won Gold in the 100m Individual Medley by just 200th of a second and 50m Breaststroke Gold by 15 seconds. Double Gold for the second time in two years was a wonderful way to finish her final appearance in the Irish Minor Schools.
Matthew Dolan also represented Enniskillen Royal Grammar Schools swimming the 50m Butterfly in a time of 44.44seconds.
