A Service of Choral Evensong was held in St Macartin’s Cathedral, Enniskillen on Sunday 4th November to celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the Opening of the Royal School in Fermanagh. The service was conducted by the Dean of Clogher, the Very Rev Kenneth Hall and the preacher was the Rt Rev David Chillingworth, the former Primus of the ScottishEpiscopal Church, a former pupil of Portora Royal School and a former choir boy in St Macartin’s Cathedral.
The choir sang a Hymn of Praise and Thanksgiving ‘Sing of the Lord’s Goodness’ during the service and Rutter’s ‘A Clare Benediction’ just before the Blessing at the end of the service. The Musical Director was Mrs Ann Bloomfield along with accompaniment by the guest organist Mr Phillip Elliott.
