A wet and cold day in Lisnaskea…
The Enniskillen Royal U12 football team were out for their first competitive games of the year in the Gamble Cup against local schools from Co Fermanagh and Tyrone today.
They won three games, drew three and lost one against Omagh CBS, the future winners of the tournament. These results placed them in third place out of the 8 teams , only one point away from the final. Despite the disappointment of getting so close, some consolation was taken from having won the “Enniskillen Derby” against Devenish College.
All players had a very good tournament showing skill, dedication and team-spirit all through the 7 games.
The goal scorers were Andrew Martin, Morgan Whittacker and Ethan Ellison and a special mention must be made to the defence and the goalie Jason Jordan for conceding only one goal throughout the whole tournament.
