The Angus Youth Challenge is a skills-based competition run by ABP in association with the Northern Irish Angus Producer Group. It is open to Year 11 pupils with a strong interest in agriculture or the agri-food industry. Following submission of a short video outlining the pupils’ understanding of ABP, the Aberdeen Angus breed and their interest in agriculture and food production. ERGS entered three team videos and all three were selected to attend the semi–final at the Eikon Centre on Friday 25th October. 28 teams in total competed for four sets of calves.
The three teams of Year 11 pupils were:
Group 1 Emma Mc Elwaine, Ella Karr, Sophie-Lily Griffith O’Hara, Andrea Johnston, and
Group 2 Isla Traynor and Julie Elliott
