Year 8 Activity Day – A Grand Tour of ERGS! ⚽🍦💦
On Thursday, our Year 8 pupils embarked on an epic tour of all three ERGS sites, making for a day packed with fun, friendship and just a little perspiration!
We set off from Algeo Drive and made our way briskly (at least at the beginning!) to the Eisenhower pitches at Lough Shore via the Round O. Upon arrival, pupils were rewarded with a complimentary Slushie or Whippy – essential fuel for the eagerly anticipated ERGS World Cup.
Despite the sweltering conditions, there was no shortage of energy or enthusiasm on the pitch. After some fantastic football, our champions emerged victorious: Argentina for the girls and Portugal for the boys. Well done to all who took part!
With temperatures continuing to soar, a water fight was the only logical next step. What began as a cooling-off exercise quickly became a full-scale aquatic battle. Mr Gaston seemed to become the main target – somewhat surprisingly, not only for the pupils but also for several of his usually trustworthy colleagues!
The journey to Cooper Crescent followed, although describing this leg of the walk as "brisk" would be extremely generous. Both pupils and staff were beginning to feel the effects of the heat, and the pace became decidedly more leisurely!
After a well-earned lunch and some relaxation in the Cooper Crescent canteen, everyone was refreshed and ready for an action-packed afternoon. Activities included Tennis, Mini Sports Day, Wobbly Waiter, Wet and Skippy, and Pass the Water, ensuring there was plenty of laughter, teamwork and healthy competition to round off a memorable day.
A huge thank you to all staff who helped make the day such a success. From football victories to water-fight casualties, it was a fantastic way for our Year 8 pupils to create new friendships and lasting memories during their first year at ERGS. 🌟

Year 10 Activities Week Surfing Trip to Rossnowlagh
Year 10 spent the day at Rossnowlagh Beach for surf lessons with Bundoran Surf School, who provided excellent guidance throughout. The waves were a little tame, but this meant many pupils were able to get up on their boards and enjoy the experience.
After surfing, pupils played beach games and spent time together on the sand - we couldn't have asked for better weather. Behaviour was excellent and the group represented the school very well.
The day finished with a stop at Tickety Moo for a delicious ice cream before heading home. An enjoyable day out for everyone involved.
