The first workshop of the ‘Better Together’ project got underway this week at ERGS with a pupil-led tour of the town and school, helped along the way by Year 13 pupil William Graham who impressed everyone with his knowledge on the history of Enniskillen Castle.
We got off to a great start with our first guest speaker of the project, Olympic rower Ross Corrigan, a former pupil at St Michael’s College who joined Enniskillen Royal Boat Club where he was coached and inspired by Irish Olympians Derek Holland and Ian Kennedy. Our pupils got an insight into the sheer hard work and discipline that drives an Olympian and how a successful cross-community club paved the pathway to the Paris Olympics. Many thanks to Ross for being so generous with his time and for being such a fantastic role model for our young people.
