On Lough Shore site, our Book Club pupils’ current reading of The Catcher in the Rye provides the perfect platform for discussion on emotional growth and maturity as the adolescent protagonist struggles to make his way into the adult world. Our regular Book Club pupils were delighted to host a tea and chat session to mark Mental Health Week in the library. The Book Club meets every Wednesday lunchtime and is open to year 12 and 14 pupils. Throughout the week, year 11 and 12 pupils are dropping in to the ‘Chill Out Zone’ in the library to appreciate the benefits of chatting and connecting with others. The library offers a range of diverse fiction and self-help books specifically aimed at teenagers; pupils are always welcome to drop in any time during break, lunchtime or before/after school.
