The Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award group could not have asked for a better day to begin preparation for their upcoming expedition. 28 Year 11s arrived to the Share Centre in glorious sunshine to learn the basics of canoeing in preparation for their two day assessed expedition around Lough Erne next week.
The pupils quickly got to grips with the equipment, paddling, rescue techniques and possibly the toughest of all…getting into and out of a wetsuit!
They continue training this week and have made excellent progress to date, having lots of fun and practising their teamwork skills. Thanks to the instructors at the Share Centre for their patience and expertise.
