Enniskillen Royal hosted Cookstown at Fivemiletown on Saturday. The teams were cheered on by their respective Principals in a game decided by a wonderful reverse stick flick into goal courtesy of Leah Irwin. Enniskillen were dominant for the majority of this game but a mixture of resolute defending by the away side and wasteful finishing kept the score down. Goalkeeper, Victoria Benson was reduced to a spectator as Abi Brock, Ella Forsythe and Ruby Cobain marshalled by the excellent, Emily Morton controlled the game and provided a platform for Anna Wilson to distribute effectively from midfield. Captain, Leanora Bell formed an excellent partnership on the right wing utilising the pace of Faith Gould and Annabel Morrison was in sparkling form on the left. Rachel Mullan made unselfish runs up front and was unfortunate not to score on several occasions. Final Score 1 – 0 to ERGS.
An all-round good team performance after the disappointment of losing our cup match to Down High School.
