The Drama department were highly successful in the Fermanagh Feis last week with pupils winning in all categories.
Year 14 Performing Arts students competed in the Year 11 + monologues section, with Faichra Gallagher Lawson being placed 1st for his performance of Frankenstein by Nick Dear and Bethany Curran was awarded 3rd place for her performance of Katherine’s monologue from Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew.
The adjudicator commented on the exceptional standard of all the competitors and in particularly praised Faichra’s ‘undefinable quality that goes beyond stage presence’ and his ability to embody the character completely creating an almost ‘filmic’ quality.
On Thursday 15th it was the turn of the KS3 Drama Club, under the expert direction of Mrs McDowell. In 1st place with ‘The Dog Ate My Homework’ were Year 10 Fenn Columb Halliwell, George Pattison, Ben Richmond. 2nd place was awarded to
Ellie Hicks, Alex Carson, Sarah Irvine in Year 10 for their performance of ‘We Three’ with 3rd place for Year 9 girls, Darcy Pancott, Kate McGarry, Emily Lipscomb, Cait Little performance of ‘The Wilderness’.
Year 8s Caitlyn Ellison, Sarah Walsh, Ellie Cuthbertson were awarded Highly Commended for ‘Bubble wrap’ .
Huge congratulations to all involved for their commitment and creativity throughout the preparation for the competition, which certainly paid off!
