Senior Girls (U18)
The second phase of the Ulster Senior Girls Schools Cup competition took place on perfect surfaces on a beautiful crisp morning at Omagh Rugby Club.
There were a number of new teams taking part in this phase and some really excellent players that gave our girls some new problems.
The really strong numbers in our girls Senior section meant that we were again able to field two 12 person strong teams.
The ERGS Blue team started first against Omagh Academy and ran out 5-1 winners. Next they played a really strong Fivemiletown College team that they overcame 2-1. Their third game was against a new team Magh Ene which the ERGS girls won 4-0 and they finished strongly against Cardonagh, winning 4-1.
The ERGS Red team started off against the Fivemiletown College team winning 3-1 which was a great openning result. They then beat the Magh Ene girls 4-0 followed by a good result of 4-1 against Cardonagh. Their last game was really well contested but they ran out 4-2 winners against a very good Omagh Academy side.
All 24 girls played superb rugby both in attack and defence and they go into the Christmas break with all teams unbeaten.
They are looking forward to the next round in early January.
