ERBC had 7 crews racing at Newry Head of the River on Saturday while the rest of the rowers continued their preparations for Erne Head of the River which takes place on 2nd March.
The WJ16 8+ of Aoibhin Campbell, Amy Williamson, Abbie McCarthy Magwood, Grace Collins, Emily Black, Darcy Balfour, Brooke Davis, Tori Davis and cox Errie took the win over Coleraine Grammar School by over 2 minutes in Race 1 to complete the 5km course in a time of 19.12.0. In Race 2 Ben Cameron and Jamie Dunlop took the honours in the MJ16 2X in Race 2 beating the crews from Coleraine Grammar School and Newry Rowing Club. They finished in a time of 19.23.5.
There were no J14 events offered so the rowers were rowing up a year in J15 events. All the rowers should very proud of their efforts. Next on the rowing calendar is Lagan Scullers Head on February 10th when the J14 boys and girls will travel to Belfast to compete.
