The tables were turned in Enniskillen Royal today as the staff donned the ERGS school uniform for the last day of term while the pupils enjoyed the privilege of wearing non-uniform. The School Council came up with this idea at their March meeting as a means of giving something back to their community by raising funds for two local charities – Action Mental Health and RNLI.
Despite the pupils not being in uniform, shouts of ‘tuck that shirt in’ and ‘straighten that tie’ could still be heard resounding down the corridors as the pupils took their new roles in enforcing the Uniform Policy very seriously!
The proceeds at close of school today stood at £1462, which will be divided equally between the two chosen charities.
On behalf of School Council, a sincere thank you to the staff and pupils who entered into the spirit of the day which made for a lovely end of term atmosphere and realised such a generous sum of money.
